Words I never want to hear ever again…
In this election the following words are mentioned every time I turn around- fundamental, maverick, my friends, hockey moms, joe six pack, and change. These words drive me insane and I need a time out from every hearing them again. The only time I had ever heard the world fundamental before was in English class when our teacher was telling us all how reading is fundamental.
According to the dictionary a maverick is someone who doesn’t go along with a group or party. Then, how is John McCain a maverick if he voted with Bush, the leader of his party over 90% of the time. John McCain could have picked an independent for a running mate if he was a maverick, but he picked the most conservative and Republican politician in the US.
It’s like ordering a diamond ring and getting cubic zirconia. You are not getting what was advertised to you, and you are dissatisifed and want your money back.
Which words have you heard that drive you nuts during this campaign season?
The two words I’ve had the biggest problem with this campaign season have been “McCain” and “Palin”.
I can’t wait til’ Nov. 5th, when I won’t have to hear them ever again.
Cheers
I agree. If I hear Maverick one more time I’m going to stick a pencil through my ear drums.
With the exception of fundamental which is really just another word for “basic(s)”, all the ones that you mention sound pretty good candidates for the “most irritating words this election” award!
