The Final Debate: My Take

Last night at Hofstra University in New York John McCain and Barack Obama had their final presidential debate. This was the 49th debate this year. I have to say I have watched all 49 Democratic and Republican debates on television and my ears are rejoicing because now they will not hear a debate again for three years.

One thing that irked me was that Ralph Nader, Bob Barr, and Cynthia McKinney were not allowed to debate with John McCain and Barack Obama. Their names are on the ballot under the presidential candidiates.

I thought Barack Obama did an incredible job. He was as eloquent as usual and explainedhis connection to Bill Ayers and ACORN quite well. John McCain came off as a whiner. He saidthe tone at rallies would have been better if they had done ten town hall style debates. How would the tone be any different? If someone is going to make racist comments at a rally then chances are ten town hall style debates wouldn’t change their minds.

Polls indicate that Barack won this debate and the other two debates as well. We heard about Joe the plumber a million times. Does Joe even have a last name because Joe the Plumber sounds like a character from the show Bob the Builder.

Who do you think won the debateand why do you feel this way?
