President Elect Barack Obama will name more of his cabinet members soon. He is working very fast and making very good selections as far as I can tell. We all know that he has picked Senator Hillary Clinton as his secretary of state and Bill Richardson as his commerce secretary. He has picked Susan Rice who was his foreign affairs adviser to be his United Nations ambassador.President Elect Barack Obama has decided that Eric Holder will be his attorney general. Eric Holder had helped him with his search for a vice presidential running mate. Janet Napolitano who is an Arizona governor has been selected to be President Elect Obama’s homeland security secretary. This cabinet has really taken shape. One person I would like to see included is Colin Powell. He is such a great man, he really needs to be included in President Elect Obama’s cabinet. What do you think of all of these picks?

On January 20th, 2009 there will be a new president. However, what types of laws are being passed and put into law by our lame duck president, George W. Bush? We do not know what laws he is trying to sign into law because no one is reporting on a lot of news relating to George W. Bush. I for one cannot wait until Inauguration Day. I am very excited. I wish that I could attend the Inauguration but good luck getting tickets. I mean it is pure insanity trying to get Inauguration tickets because so many people want them. President Elect Obama wants an economic plan on his desk when he arrives for his first official day on the job. I hope that he gets his wish. I assume that he has policy advisers working overtime in order to try and get his economic plan written and passed by Congress. I really wish that today was January 20th. I think that I would feel better about my economic future. Many people are suffering financially right now and it is just not right.

President George W. Bush has been reflecting on his presidential legacy. We all know that the legacy will include the Iraq war, the poor economy, and the loss of jobs. However, President George W. Bush says that he will leave the office of the president with the same values that he entered into it with. President Bush has been president for two terms or eight years. He has done some good things like help fight AIDS, help get elderly people prescription coverage, and help with Medicare. However, people will not remember those things because everyone associates the wars and the horrible economy with George W. Bush. There is no way to repair this legacy because he has not admitted that he should have made better choices. If the people of the United States want the wars to end, then as president you need to listen to your citizens and find a way to make their wishes happen. We cannot know what our grandchildren will think of President George W. Bush, he will be in the history books that I am very sure of.

President Elect Obama’s daughters will be doing chores in the White House. I am not surprised by this. I think it is important to teach your children responsibility. I mean doing chores never hurt anyone. I cannot imagine how easy life would be in the White House. I mean you would not have to cook or clean, or even drive to do errands. You have such a large staff whose jobs are to meet your every need. I commend President Elect Barack Obama and his wife Michelle, they are really trying to keep their two young daughters grounded and in touch with real life. As a parent, I think you have to have your children help around the house to teach them pride in ownership and responsibility. Parents who do not make their children do chores often have disciplinary problems with their kids because the kids do not have a sense of responsibility. I didn’t even get paid for doing my chores when I was a kid, we were just expected to help out and work together. My parents said the food, room, and board were free so we did not need money for helping to keep out home clean.

President Elect Barack Obama has selected Paul Volcker who is the former federal reserve chairman to head a new panel. The panel is designed to help create jobs and help the financial markets stabilize. This is a pretty smart decision by the President Elect. We need to help create jobs in this country. I really have to give President Elect Barack Obama credit, he is a go getter. He is trying very hard to show the American people that he means business. I mean the economy is bad and people want their president to talk about what he is going to do to fix the problem. A panel at least shows that President Elect Barack Obama is trying to come up with ways to make sure that the economy is his top priority. We need job creation to be a huge priority because many jobs are being eliminated because of the credit crisis. Do you think that President Elect Obama is doing the right thing?

Last night, I was watching Keith Olbermann’s Countdown and saw the entire turky debacle video starring Governor Sarah Palin. I have to say that video scared me. First, I had never known that, that was the way they killed turkeys. I cannot imagine doing something like that for a living. I mean it was grueling to watch. I cannot imagine that someone in the audience would say something. I mean if I aw a turkey getting killed in an automatic turkey killing machine you can bet that I would scream or wince or say something. I mean there is a animal being killed a few feet from you and you say nothing. The guy who was killing the turkey seemed more interested in Sarah Palin than his job. I have never seen something like this in politics. I mean it just shocked me. I could not believe that something like that could happen. Keith seemed very shocked and dismayed. I felt his pain, that is for sure. What did you think of turkey gate?

I read an article this morning stating that Dana Perino had said that Barack Obama will probably have an eight month honeymoon with the press. She also implied that at the first sign of trouble that they will turn on him. For those who don’t know Dana Perino is President Bush’s press secretary. She has had a tough job because most Americans do not like President Bush so she gets a lot of questions about him. I think that it would be hard to be President Bush’s press secretary because the press can get very nasty and write nasty things about you. You are basically the spokesperson of a very unpopular person. I think President Elect Barack Obama wants an open dialogue with the press to show that he is honest and genuine. I mean if you acts secretive and closed off then people will think that you have something to hide and they will not trust you at all. I think that the Obama administration will have a good working relationship with the press if they keep the press informed.

According to news reports, New Mexico governor Bill Richardson will be President Elect Barack Obama’s commerce secretary. I am happy that Bill Richardson has a cabinet position. I am just curious as to why he is not the secretary of state considering the fact that he has been very loyal to the President Elect. I mean when he dropped out of the presidential race he endorsed President Elect Barack Obama for president. He became a huge ally. He campaigned for him. He has done many interviews on different cable news channels trying to represent him in a positive way. I mean it is like having your best friend pick the cheerleader over you. I like Hillary Clinton but if I were Bill Richardson I would be pretty upset that someone I campaigned for and was very loyal to picked Hillary Clinton over me. I do think Bill Richardson will be a great commerce secretary. He really seems dedicated to public service and helping the people of this country. What do you think about this story?

President Elect Barack Obama has a plan to create over two and a half million new jobs for Americans in this country. He is trying to create this jobs by 2011. He wants to increase the number of alternative fuel automobiles that are manufactures and produced in the United States. It is important for our new president to have a solid job creation plan. Many Americans have become unemployed due to the loss of manufacturing jobs in the United States. Many of those jobs are being outsourced to other countries that are overseas. If we can create newer jobs in alternative energy then we can help our economy and help our environment at the same time. I think that President Elect Obama is off to a pretty good start considering the fact that he is not even in office officially until January 20th. I mean who would do this kind of work before they were to report to their first day on the job? What do you all think?

Every single day we are hearing about leaks in the President Barack Obama’s vetting process of Hillary Clinton and others. Hillary Clinton’s vetting process has become a soap opera. Former President Bill Clinton has to hand over a lot of documents pertaining to his foreign dealings, his foundation, his income from speeches, and donor list for his presidential library. What type of information will be found? Who knows? I mean I am stumped as to why all of these documents were not released from Bill and Hillary Clinton during the primary election. I mean she was applying to be president of the United States back then. She now wants the secretary of state job position and the vetting process is a huge drama. Every day there are leaks about who might be nominated for cabinet positions. I am curious as to where Bill Richardson ends up, he really helped President Elect Obama and yet he has not received a cabinet position but Hillary Clinton is probably going to get one. What do you think?
