President Elect Barack Obama to meet with John McCain today

Published by mcnally1 at 10:17 am under Politics, President Barack Obama, news Edit This

President Elect John McCain will meet with John McCain today. They are supposed to meet and talk about how they can work together to help make the country a better place. The two men will meet at President Elect Barack Obama’s transition headquarters in Chicago. Some issues that might be addressed are climate change and ethics reform. Senator Lindsey Graham and Rahm Emmanuel will also be present at the meeting. This is a really huge effort by President Elect Obama to reach across the party lines. I mean inviting your former rival to a meeting takes a lot of guts. I mean John McCain did run a pretty negative campaign. He said some terrible things about Barack Obama as did his running mate Sarah Palin. Hopefully, there will be bipartisanship forged at this meeting. We always hear about reaching across the aisle but we rarely see any of this actually turn into fruition. I doubt John McCain will be in President Elect Obama’s cabinet but I think it shows how big of a man Barack Obama is to set up this meeting. What do you think?
