President Elect Obama Picks Bill Richardson as Commerce Secretary

Published by mcnally1 at 2:23 pm under Politics, President Barack Obama, news Edit This

This is not really news but president Elect Barack Obama officially picked Governor Bill Richardson as his commerce secretary. Governor Bill Richardson is a good guy. He is the first Hispanic cabinet selection that President Elect Obama has made so far. The governor had run for president against President Elect Barack Obama in the democratic primary. I think it is great that President Elect Obama decided to put Governor Bill Richardson in his cabinet. I had thought that he would be secretary of state but another democratic presidential rival, Senator Hillary Clinton was given that cabinet position. Bill Richardson seems like an intelligent man. I felt bad that he did not go further in the primaries. He seems like such a stand up guy. He endorsed Barack Obama pretty fast after he withdrew from the democratic primary race. He was a great ally for Barack Obama and I am glad that his loyalty has paid off.
