Joe Biden not allowed to attend Democratic Caucus Meetings

I heard today that Vice President Elect Joseph Biden will not be allowed to attend democratic caucus meetings. The democrats want to bar the vice president from sitting in on their internal deliberations. This is because of Vice President Dick Cheney who expanded the role of the vice president when he was not supposed to. According to reports,Vice President Elect Biden agrees that there needs to be balance. There needs to be more balance in the United States senate. The only reason that Biden should be involved in senate deliberations in my opinion is when the senators cannot come to a consensus. I think this can be a good thing because the senators would vote the way that they want. Many republicans felt pressured to vote with Dick Cheney and the White House because he was alloed to be in the senate’s interal delberations. It is time to undo what went wrong and rectify the situation.

I heard Russ Feingold on PBS the other day talking about a lot of the things that the Bush administration has done to overstep the executive branch’s powers. Most of them could be done away with by executive order though, and according to Feingold Obama plans to do that soon after taking office.
